Our Mission

INSION is one of leading manufacturers of monolithic micro spectrometers and spectral sensors for OEM applications.

We focus on the development and the production of miniaturized spectral sensors and spectrometers for OEM applications. The INSION core team has been working for more than 20 years in micro system technology and miniature spectral sensing applications and supports customers in all aspects of spectroscopic applications. We are active in the markets of point-of-care diagnostics, biomedical and clinical analyzers, food- and pharma-process inspection systems (PAT), agricultural sensor systems, safety applications, color- and light metrics.

With its core team stemming from the Micro optics business division at Boehringer Ingelheim microParts GmbH, INSION is a well-established, internationally active enterprise in the microoptics industry.

INSION was founded in 2011 and is located in Obersulm, Germany. With its core team stemming from the Micro-optics business division at Boehringer Ingelheim microParts GmbH, INSION is a well-established, internationally active enterprise in the micro optics industry.

Your request: Our mission.

Are you looking for medical grade reliability, accuracy, miniaturization and robustness going along with attractive cost structures comprising both, acquisition expenses and ongoing costs? INSION’s one-chip micro spectrometers enable you to offer your customers more than standardized lab ware.

Starting at the core of things, our design philosophy is handling the customer’s entire optical signal path ingeniously matching customer's performance and cost targets with our products and technologies. This either means reducing the approach to a monolithic solution with all functional elements being integrated into one chip or creating a setup that combines our micro spectrometer concepts with a hybrid-integrated sampling optics.

Our monolithic spectrometer design combines micro-injection molding fabrication processes, high end PVD and optical assembly processes as the basis for innovative products in the fields of:

  • decentralized medical diagnostics and analytics
  • process sensors
  • analytical instrumentation for harsh environments
